Purchase validation

01

Planning target: five shared-station prototypes plus one spare; print and validate one sensor before scaling. Printer time, electronics and calibration are additional costs: the project's low-cost headline covers magnets alone, not a complete sensor.

02

The published cuboidal build uses magnets 3/8 inch in diameter and 1/8 inch thick; fingertips use 3/16 inch diameter and 1/16 inch thickness. Match magnet count, polarity, pouch dimensions and print-pause position to the chosen STL; do not mix the two sizes.

03

Generate the cut-cell STL, slice for TPU, pause at the magnet pouches, insert magnets, resume printing and fit the readout PCB. Upstream used a Bambu X1 Carbon; the linked lab printer is a candidate, not a verified equivalent. Keep loose magnets secured and check retention before robot use.
